I had a delightful stay at Room Mate Alicia Hotel in Madrid. Situated in Plaza de Santa Ana, the hotel's central location allowed easy access to major attractions while maintaining a peaceful ambiance. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted warmly by Eva, who graciously provided me with a map and offered guidance on exploring the surrounding area. Despite its small size, the room was intelligently designed and had all the amenities I needed as a solo traveler. The efficient use of space, from the foldable table to the in-room amenities, made my stay comfortable and convenient. My only gripes were the lack of a door dividing the bathroom sink area from the bedroom and a shower that did not drain quickly due to the uneven floor inside the stall. Overall, I would highly recommend Room Mate Alicia Hotel to solo travelers or pairs seeking a cozy and well-equipped accommodation in the heart of Madrid!

We had a really warm welcome on arrival and found our double room had every comfort including a kettle, coffee, sugar and a large free bottle of water. The beds were sublime, the bathroom had lots of freebies, the water really hot and the shower invigorating. Lots of lush towels. My sister was very touched the staff left a birthday cake for her. The tv was huge as were the many pillows and cushions. The swivel chair was fun next to the mini-bar. The safe was easy to use and large enough for a big camera and laptop. The curtains were dense and one window opened. The lift though small was sufficient for two people and a large case. The breakfast buffet was extensive, offering fresh cold melon, pineapple and grapefruit. The coffee machine produced delicious coffee and the bakery section was very varied with different types of fresh croissants, tarts, cakes, rolls and toast. As well as cooked or vegetarian options. Choice of milks and juices and smoothies. Every day we had a warm greeting and if we return to Madrid we would not hesitate to rebook the Room Mate Alicia. Brilliant location too.

Positives were the comfortable and well equipped, soundproofed rooms, and the friendly reception staff. Negatives were being charged for the water in our rooms and the extremely poor choice at breakfast. There was only one hot drinks machine - the coffee quality was poor and dispensing was slow, meaning guests had to wait in a queue. Many breakfast items were not replenished after they ran out. The breakfast room itself was too hot and the music was too loud.

We booked a suite and it was very well worth the extra cost. Our view was a corner view across the whole of Placa Ana. Beautiful large light room, extremely well designed and equipped. The bed and sumptuous pillows are among the best ever. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of continental food together with excellent individual portions of bacon and scrambled eggs if required. Excellent selection of cold meats, cheeses, fruit and bakery. The cakes and smoothies wee really tasty. All very fresh and beautifully presented. The location was very central and convenient for three metro stations. Excellent double glazing meant that the suite was very quiet. I would definitely recommend and visit again.

Very nice hotel and the rooms are great. The hotel is central and there is many many restaurants close by. Perfect area to stay in if you visit Madrid. It could sometimes be noisy from the outside in the nightime. A lot of partying people are in the neighborhood. But I would absolutely stay there again if I go to Madrid.
